Today’s reflection comes from tenth grade visual artist, musician, actress and SLAM! member, Riley Theriault.
So, using it in the classroom is a great way to engage students like me, whether it’s making a project poster colorful, writing a tune to remember my notes, or creating a movie to explain something. Art also helps me to understand certain concepts. For example, when I listen to a speech in class I will understand it much better if there are visuals supporting what the speaker is saying. Art is essential in education because it helps students get the most out their educational experience.
